This Custom Rat Rod Is a Show-Stopper—Now With a Full Audio Upgrade and More
This one-of-a-kind Rat Rod grabs attention wherever it goes, thanks to its roaring Boss 494 engine with open headers and a body design that lifts completely out of the way at the press of a button. Now that we’ve had the chance to upgrade it, there are even more reasons to check it out.
We packed this beast with serious sound: 30 Focal speakers powered by 2,200 watts of JL Audio amplification. A JL Audio TWK88 digital signal processor ensures every note is crystal clear, while a Mosconi AMAS96K Bluetooth module delivers high-resolution audio from any device.
To make sure it stands out even more at night, we added 100 feet of RaceSport RGB LED lighting. The entire lift-body system was automated—just one button controls the dramatic body raise. Underneath the wild looks, we cleaned up and rewired the electrical system to handle all the new components. We also performed a full tune-up and resolved an overheating issue to make this machine reliable for cruising to car shows.
After a final road test that was nothing short of unforgettable, this Rat Rod is now as dependable as it is jaw-dropping.
