Custom Ford Transit Sound System Installation
This custom Ford Transit audio upgrade came to us all the way from Atlanta—proof that when you’re serious about sound, the distance is worth it. Designed by Serious Autosport and installed by award-winning fabricator Tom Mangs, this build is a perfect blend of premium components, expert tuning, and thoughtful utility.
At the heart of the system are three JL Audio 12W7 subwoofers in ported enclosures, delivering hard-hitting, ultra-low bass with incredible accuracy. The front sound stage features a JL Audio C7 three-way setup, including dual 6.5″ woofers in each door for powerful midbass and crystal-clear highs. The rear stage uses C7 two-way components to ensure rich, balanced sound throughout the entire vehicle.
Controlling it all is an Alpine 11″ Halo display paired with a PXE-X09 16-channel DSP, giving us full command over signal processing and sound tuning. To drive the system, we installed six JL Audio HD amplifiers, producing a combined 5,400 watts of clean, reliable power.
But this build is about more than just incredible sound. We also added power inverters to charge the client’s e-bikes and run a mini fridge, making this van road-trip ready. A custom hidden compartment, designed to fit a Pelican rifle case, adds secure storage without sacrificing space or aesthetics.
