When you’re working with a vehicle as timeless as the 1967 Austin Healey 3000, the goal is simple: preserve the classic aesthetic while delivering modern sound performance—and that’s exactly what we did.
To keep the interior clean and period-correct, we mounted a Pioneer head unit discreetly inside the glove box. This allows for convenient access to tuning and source control without disrupting the vintage look of the dash.
For the audio system, we chose a compact yet powerful JL Audio XD500/3 amplifier to power C5 5.25″ coaxial speakers, offering smooth mids and crisp highs, perfectly suited to the open cabin of the Healey. To round out the low end, we integrated a JL Audio 8W1 subwoofer, adding just the right amount of punch without taking up valuable space.
The result? A full, balanced soundstage that’s surprisingly rich for such a small vehicle. Every detail was installed with care to ensure seamless integration and maximum listening enjoyment.
